About PrivateLessons.com
Our tagline is "Your lesson. Your way. Since 1996." PrivateLessons.com is a directory where independent teachers, tutors and coaches list their lessons, and students and parents find them.
What we do
We help people find a private teacher for almost anything: piano, guitar, voice, math, SAT prep, swim, golf, tennis, Spanish lessons and classes, and much more. Teachers create a profile showing what they teach, where, when and what they charge. Students read profiles, compare them and send a message.
What we don't do
We aren't a party to any lesson. We don't employ teachers, set their rates or schedules, or handle lesson payments. Each lesson is an agreement between the teacher and the student, and you pay your teacher directly.
How we make money
Teachers can list on a free plan or pick a flat monthly plan. That's our business. We don't take a commission from teachers or charge them per lead. Searching, messaging and contacting teachers are always free for students.
What we care about
- Plain and simple. Pages that load fast on a phone, plain words and one clear next step.
- Honest money. Prices are shown up front, and teachers can cancel online in a couple of clicks.
- Safety. Accounts are for adults 18 and over. Parents and guardians arrange lessons for children. Teachers who work with minors follow our Community & Child Safety Code.
- Clear labels. Featured listings are always labeled.
Where we're starting
We're relaunching in Orange County, California, and growing across Southern California, with online lessons available everywhere.
