What do William Shakespeare and Joe Cocker have in common? Their material is covered by singer/songwriter/actor Steve Cramer in his live shows. Steve brings to life the poetry of Rumi Robert Frost and Shakespeare as well as songs from his by the music of James Taylor Peter Gabriel and Steely Dan Cramer's music is an eclectic mix of jazz rock and blues. Steve released his theme CD entitled A False Sense of Security in 1997. Reflecting on the loss of his father and the breakup of his marriage within the same year this collection of songs and instrumentals chronicles his walk through sorrow to find joy and renewal. His lyrics convey a sense of hope and release from brokenness reminding people that they are not alone in their worries and that walking through pain with a sense of humor is the way to freedom. Recorded in Woodstock New York A False Sense of Security features some of the world's finest musicians including Mike DeMicco (guitarist for Rory Block Dan Brubeck and many others) Scott Petito (bassist and engineer/producer on more than 200 albums) Leslie Ritter (formerly of the Top 40 singing duo Amy & Leslie) Aaron Hurwitz (keyboard player with Rick Danko Levon Helm and The Band) and the gospel group Shining Light. c Cramer's theatre experience includes the role of Count Dracula in the October 1998 Acts Factory production of 'Dracula' and as the evil card dealer 'Wheeler' in the new rock musical 'Abracadabra' now being showcased in New York. His first album Miracles a satire based on the life of a television evangelist was released in 1990 and subsequently performed at the CIGNA Theatre in Bloomfield CT by the Greater Hartford Actors' Studio. He is currently working on his third album entitled The World You Made scheduled for release this year. He has performed with many singer/songwriters including Leslie Ritter and Scott Petito Bob Franke Steve Seskin Kim and Reggie Harris Sloan Wainwright Paul Reisler and Christina Muir.
