Richard Bass has performed with the Phoenix Symphony the Arizona Opera the Tony Bennett Orchestra the Sonoran Brass the Palo Verde Brass the Mesa Symphony and the Scottsdale Symphony. He has recorded CDs for Summit Records D'Note Classics and has been selected to perform at numerous International Brassfest workshops festivals and honors recitals throughout Southern California Arizona and Colorado. Richard has performed as principal trombone with the American Institute of Musical Studies Festival Orchestra in Graz Austria and the Monterrey Symphony Orchestra in Monterrey Mexico. An Arizona native Mr. Bass studied trombone at Arizona State University and is currently finishing up his Bachelor's Described as the hottest new brass quintet in the Southwest the Sonoran Brass has been growing in reputation since being founded in 1996 by students at Arizona State University. Acclaimed as possessing an energetic group spirit superb tone and balance the Sonoran Brass has never wavered from its dedication to perform brass chamber music at the highest level of excellence for the entertainment and enjoyment of audiences. They have performed at venues throughout the Valley including Gammage Auditorium Wells Fargo Arena the Fleischer and Heard Museums the Mayo Clinic and Mayo Hospital as well as many local churches. The quintet was chosen to perform a world premiere composition record new pieces and play for a statewide audience on the Phoenix television station FOX10. Devoted to musical excellence the members of the Sonoran Brass are adept at performing concerts weddings commencements church services corporate conventions business parties private parties and holiday music.
