Rachel Morin is a performing pianist, composer, adjudicator, clinician, church musician, and teacher. Her students have won many competitions and some have gone on to become respected musicians at prestigious colleges and religious institutions.
Rachel is passionate about helping young students reach their full potential as musicians by building their confidence with opportunities to perform in front of a supportive audience and exposing them to a variety of musical styles and experiences.
Additionally, Rachel feels very strongly that it is important for young musicians to have the opportunity to learn to play in the way that is most healthy and natural for the human body. Working one on one with leading teachers from both coasts, she has devoted significant time and financial resources towards ensuring that she has the best and most current information to offer her students in the areas of injury prevention and development of a fine technique. In addition to her work with young students, she was recently appointed to the faculty-in-training program at the Keyboard Wellness Seminar where, under the guidance of Sheila Paige, she assists in re-training professional musicians who are interested in preventing and remediating misuse injuries.
For students who are interested in competing, Rachel is a member of NFMC, MTNA, the Vivace Music Club and the American Guild of Music, where she regularly enters children in a variety of competitions if that is what they choose to do.
As a performer, Dr. Morin plays regularly with the Macomb Symphony and has also given numerous recitals in the United States and abroad. She has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Macomb Symphony, Southfield youth symphony and the Grinnell Orchestra. She currently accompanies the Rochester Community Chorus.
