Multi-instrumentalist Michele Temple has been performing and teaching since she was twelve. Her professional life revolves around three aspects of music--production performing and teaching. At her studio Urban Iguana Productions Michele composes and produces bands singer-songwriters and instrumentalists. She also does other commercial freelance studio work around the city. As a live performer Michele plays electric bass in avante rock outfit Pere Ubu since 1993 and with Le Garage Cabaret featuring accordianist Marni Rice. She is music director of world music outfit Little Horses plays guitar and bass for hip hop production team The Jettsonz (Nina Sky) and performs with various other ensembles around the city. Michele is also an author having written an award-winning monograph entitled 'Middle Eastern Influences on Late Medieval Italian Dances.' Michele has a Master?s degree in Musicology and teaches at the Brooklyn Conservatory as well as other music and private schools around the city. She counts among her former students multiple Grammy winning artist Alicia Keys.
