Maggie Duggan is a violinist based in Ann Arbor Michigan. Ms. Duggan is originally from Tacoma Washington. She is an experienced teacher having taught students of all ages for the past six years. Whilst in Tacoma Ms. Duggan became part of the 3rd graduating class Tacoma School of the Arts (SOTA) and the first violinist to attend the school. As a junior she led her quartet to win the Tacoma solo/ensemble contest and compete in Ellensburg Washington. She also auditioned and was accepted to both the All-State and All-Northwest honors orchestras. She was also selected by the National Associaton for Music Education (MENC) as an All-USA High School Musician with a merit scholarship. Ms. Duggan has been a part of several summer programs and festivals. She attended the Icicle Creek Chamber Music Instute in the summers from 2003 to 2009 in Leavenworth Washington where she received coachings from the Avalon Quartet as well as guest artists such as Stephen Doane and Christina Dahl. In 2004 she attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute String Quartet Workshop in Lenox Massachusettes which consisted of only 24 string players from across the country. Ms. Duggan holds a Bachelor?s Degree in Violin Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in May 2010 where she was a student of Axel Strauss. There she was active as both a chamber and orchestral player. In San Francisco she had the oportunity to play for eminent conductors including Michael Tilson Thomas Michael Morgan Andrew Mogrelia and Corey Jamason. Ms. Duggan has taken part in numerous masterclasses with such notables as: Edward Sefarian Ivry Gitlis Maria Sampen Svend Ronning and Wei He. Her primary studies in violin have been with Ron Patterson Rhonda Marsh and Axel Strauss. In 2008 Ms. Duggan joined the Magik * Magik orchestra a 100-piece indie orchestra which collaborated with touring and local artists most notably Third Eye Blind Frederica Von Stade and Sting.
