Dr. Keeling is a concert performer and clarinet recitalist who has performed extensively across the United States. He is a former member of the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra (Now the Virginia Symphony) Concerts on the Island Orchestra (NewportRI)) and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. In addition to performing recitals throughout the country he has appeared as clarinet soloist with the Feldman Alard and Capital String Quartets and with the Cuartetto Latinoamericana. He has also performed on numerous occasions as guest soloist of symphony orchestras and symphonic bands. He has been featured as guest soloist at music festivals in various parts of the country. Presently a Professor Emeritus of Music at Carnegie Mellon University, he was formerly Head of the School of Music following appointments in similar posts at several other universities. Throughout his career as a performer, conductor, and arts administrator, he has continued to perform and teach the clarinet. His former students number in the hundreds and are located in numerous states across the country and abroad.
