Katie Williams has been teaching private lessons to violinist and violists of all ages and abilities for 10 years. Katie attended Michigan State University for undergraduate and graduate studies majoring in Music Performance. She received her Bachelor's Degree in 2006 and her Master's Degree in 2008.
She has previously taught at various educational institutions in Michigan such as MSU's Community Music School, String Connection, and Flint School of Performing Arts. She currently maintains her teaching studio at Wilson Fine Violins in Birmingham, MI. Katie's private students have achieved superior ratings at many Solo and Ensemble Festivals and Certificates of Excellence from the Royal Conservatory's Music Development Program.
As a sought after professional adjudicator, Katie has served on judging panels for audition committees such as the Midland Symphony Concerto Competition, and the Michigan Music Festival. As a sectional and chamber music coach, Katie has lead small groups and ensembles. She ha been in demand at the MASTA String Camp in Howell and public schools such as Clawson High School, Clawson Middle School, International Academy, Novi High School, and Seaholm High School.
Katie keeps a performing schedule with area ensembles. She has been an active freelance musician performing will many orchestra across Michigan and Ohio including the Lansing Symphony, Flint Symphony, Rochester Symphony, Traverse City Symphony, Midland Symphony and Ohio Light Opera.
In her spare time Katie enjoys reading and practicing yoga.
