Active in music from an early age I was playing and received instruction for violin piano and tuba throughout my primary and secondary school career. Attending college at UW-Madison I continued my interest in music playing tuba with a five year commitment with the UW Marching Band. From my early days in Madison as a self-taught bass guitarist I played in several successful local bands composed songs for recording and performance and worked on professionally recorded studio projects. A renewed interest in classical and jazz styles led me to complete my in Double Bass Performance at the Chicago College of the Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. I am currently working on my Masters in Bass Performance. I have been fortunate to be able to study with some of the most successful and active classical and jazz double bassists in the Chicago area including members of the Lyric Opera and Chicago Symphony Orchestras as well jazz and blues with former members of Ray Charles' band and the Charles Mingus Big Band. I operate my own teaching studio instructing all skill levels of musicians in both electric and double bass piano musicianship skills and the abilities needed to play music well with others. Additionally I continue to cultivate my interests in recording and composition and am always looking for new projects and collaborations to grow and create with.
