Contralto Giulia Utz most recently appeared as Mama Lucia in 'Cavalleria Rusticana' with Opera of the Hamptons. She appears regularly as a soloist with the New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra; she has also sung with American Lyric Theater Canticum Novum Festival Singers Voices of Ascension the New Jersey Philharmonic Orchestra and Bang on a Can All Stars. A specialist in early music performance practices she has appeared in baroque operas with the New York Continuo Collective as the Virgin Mary in a medieval mystery play at the Walters Art Gallery in Baltimore and has directed medieval music performances at the Cloisters museum. She also produces solo recitals of early baroque music for voice and lute. In 2005 she created the Women's Schola at Christ Church in New Brunswick New Jersey to explore medieval chant written and/or performed by women. She established Inner Diva Singing to bring to Central New Jersey innovative breathing techniques learned with her current teacher and coach former Metropolitan Opera soprano Atarah Hazzan. Inner Diva Singing will teach you simple techniques to find your own unique voice by helping you access the core of your body to bring out the best singing voice possible developing your body and mind to sing in a powerful and efficient way. These techniques can also be applied to other areas of your life including public speaking acting dancing and sports. Ms. Utz can teach you how to: strengthen your breathing for a powerful voice; manage stage fright and emotional blocks; naturally manage health issues affecting your singing; sing in styles from medieval chant to opera and modern musical theater; use techniques for solo and choral singing; sight read like a pro; sing with correct diction in all major European languages.
