Diego Andrade 22 has been studying the guitar for 10 years. He began his humble studies at a local music store in Elmont New York under the direction of Tom Toscano. In 2006 he graduated from Sewanhaka High School and began attending the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College as a Music Education Major where he now studies classical guitar with Guitarist/Composers Jason Sagebiel and William Anderson. During this time he has performed at such venues as the Weil recital hall at Carnegie Hall and Barge Music in Brooklyn New York with the Cygnus Ensemble and the Queens Guitar Ensemble. Diego?s goal is to share his musical knowledge as a private instructor and to continue performing in order to spread awareness of the classical guitar and guitar music in general. As an instructor Diego is a patient and engaging teacher. His philosophy is that every student is different and that getting to know the student is an important part of developing an individualized lesson strategy. This includes setting goals for the student and giving him/her the opportunity to participate in the lesson in a more productive manner. In addition to this a certain amount of expectations are important as well. Beggining students are required to practice for at least 15 minutes a day 6 times a week. Parents are also encouraged to participate in the lessons for students 11 years and younger.
