Audra Moricca a native of Northport NY began her musical studies as a violinist studying at Manhattan School of Music. She received her Bachelor of Music in applied voice from Mannes School of Music in Manhattan and her Master of Arts degree in Vocal Performance at Aaron Copland School of Music at CUNY Queens College. Audra maintains an active operatic career as a New York based dramatic soprano. She has worked extensively with many prestigious musicians vocalists and directors. Ms. Moricca has performed and recorded extensive recital repertoire with pianist Kelly Horsted. Currently Audra is the voice coordinator at Five Towns College and an adjunct faculty member at the Hartt School, University of Hartford. She has also served on the voice faculty at Molloy College and Music in Chappaqua. Audra has taught performance, diction and pedagogy classes, as well as private study. Lessons generally include work on basic vocal foundation development such as breath support placement and tone concept as well as musical and repertoire application and development. Students are free to bring in pieces of any genre and are active participants in their own development. Audra's teaching style is particularly in tune to the resolution of technical problems and the fostering of skills that make students self-sufficient as well as confident. For those students interested in the finer points of vocal technique Audra offers a systematic logical system by which both the intermediate and advanced singer can realize the best possible sound as well as develop the proper tools to polish all of the elements necessary for successful performance. Audra's students are frequently noted for extensive vocal range and power as well as quick progress.
