Business Spotlight: O'Keefe Music Offers Piano Lessons and a Recording Studio John O'Keefe shares his passion and talent for music with students.

Looking for piano lessons or a recording studio in your own backyard? Look no farther than John O'Keefe.
John O'Keefe, a professional musician and music teacher, offers piano lessons and a recording studio out of his Woodridge home.
O'Keefe has been studying, performing and teaching music for more than 25 years. He began playing piano at age 7 and continued to study at Perkowski Piano Academy and Colletta Music Studio in Chicago.
He used to play a couple times a month at Vesuvio's Italian Restaurant in Woodridge, which closed in July. O'Keefe also teaches at Beautiful Music in Downers Grove.
Although O'Keefe teaches intermediate, advanced and professional musicians, he said he also works with people who have no experience at all.
"Sometimes people are apprehensive because they think they're too old," O'Keefe said. "But that is never the case. I have a student who is 80 years old."
About half of his students reside in Woodridge, ranging in age from 5 to 85. At least once a year, O'Keefe offers his students a chance to perform in a recital.
In his home recording studio, O'Keefe can provide accompaniments for artists looking to make a demo, and he can create custom music and CD's for skating, cheerleading or dance groups, as well as for commercials and company presentations. He also converts audio tapes into CD's.
O'Keefe's wife, Sue O'Keefe, is also a musician. She has a degree in music education from Roosevelt University and is currently the choir director at St. Symphorosa Church in Chicago. Sue and John O'Keefe are both available to play at holiday parties and ceremonies.
The couple said they love living and working in Woodridge because of the quiet neighborhoods and a location that's close to the city, expressways and convenient shopping.
