Keep up to date on this bustling studio!

Dear Students, Parents, Friends and Fans, I simply cannot believe how quickly this beautiful season has flown! There is so much going on at The Studio of Valley Forge! Janellen Farmer has continued her post graduate studies in Vocal Pedagogy this Summer with a week at Westminster Choir College. Headed by Dr. Kathy Kessler Price, the Westminster 2015 Vocal Pedagogy Institute was an intense, fulfilling, inspiring week of lectures and voice lab work. As a result. The Studio will, this Fall, add the Voce Vista lab program to our many state of the art features. This program will allow both teacher and student to see as well as hear vocal progress in real time. How exciting! Janellen will be working privately with Dr. Price as well, adding to her already significant base of vocal knowledge. This Fall, there will be two exciting recitals in late October/early November. First will be a Disney themed recital for the younger students, accompanied by Jeff McDonnell. The Date will be announced at the first lessons in September. Watch your emails for updates! Next will be an afternoon of French Jazz and Art Songs. The singers for this concert will be our teens and adults accompanied by our resident jazz trio, Jeff McDonnell on piano, Jason Harris on Bass and Ian Vogan on drums/percussion. Rehearsals for these concerts will begin in August and September. Our annual Holiday Soiree will take place on Saturday, December 19th at 7PM. Always a wonderful celebration, please plan to be there! This season we are excited to welcome Dr. Mark Moliterno, Professor of Voice and accredited Yogi to conduct a day of his popular YOGAVOICE. This incredible work combines yoga vinyasas with vocal production. I experienced this first hand this Summer and can not recommend it more highly! This will be open to all current students and by invitation. Date TBD. The Studio will be closed for Summer Break from Friday, August 21st through Monday, September 7. Lessons will resume on Tuesday, September 8th. For future planning: Thanksgiving break: Thursday, November 26- Sunday, November 29 Winter Break:Wednesday, December 23- Sunday January 3. Nicole Baker participated in a singer/songwriter intensive at Berklee College of Music in Boston. This is her second experience, the first being a singers intensive last Summer. She came home excited and inspired. If you have any questions about the Berklee programs she has attended, let us know! We bid a find adieu to Cynthia von Sclichten Washburn who, this month, begins an exciting new life in Nashville. She is in negotiations with agents to represent her as a singer/songwriter, and has a new job as a lawyer for a non profit. Best of Luck! We'll say we knew you when!
